Shakira opened school in Colombia
If we speak of solidarity, the Colombian singer Shakira always said this. Without asking for explanations whenever she joined when it comes to a good cause, and this time will open tomorrow in his hometown, Barranquilla, a school built for children Pies Descalzos, which she chairs the foundation.
The singer-songwriter met in 32 years yesterday, to celebrate and nothing better than traveling to the country that saw her take the first steps to help. In the future it will be in charge of exploring the new center and to welcome the thousands of students to educate school.
Pies Descalzos school opened classes with 1,500 students, most of the beach where live more than 21,000 people, half of them children and displaced by armed conflict. Some seem very little for others, but we have to applaud the good deed.
The site will have 35 classrooms, a toy library and a library, three areas of education and welfare, four special rooms, three laboratories and a language center, a school kitchen and dining, theater, sports areas, two computer rooms and a audiovisual room and areas for general services.
Besides the money raised by Shakira, have also helped to build the German channel RTL, the Community of Madrid, Hard Rock and Seat. At the inauguration, as well as Shakira, attended by Colombian President Álvaro Uribe, and the mayor of Barranquilla, Alex Char.
