National Award winning actress Konkona SenSharma tied the knot with long-term boyfriend Ranvir Shorey. She declared the wedding on her Twitter page! The event was a small private affair in their Goregaon residence. It was attended by very close friends that included Fardeen Khan and Shilpa Shetty. The wedding was confirmed by Ranvir Shorey on his Twitter page as well. Looks like the couple wanted to use their micro-blogging pages to announce this joyous occasion.
The marriage is a pleasant shock to many. Konkona and Ranvir were supposed to get married last year in December. Ranvir was holed up in Kolkata to make preparations for the wedding. Then Konkona was shooting her director mother Aparna Sen’s Bengali film ‘Iti Mrinalini’. Ranvir hung around the sets and even did a small cameo as a cinematographer in the film! But then things went haywire and the blogosphere was abuzz with rumors that the two had split.
But they were not just rumors! They had indeed split. And suddenly this Twitter update that pinned their wedding date to be September 3 is a little surprising! But it’s good news indeed. The declaration on Twitter made way for plenty of accolades from peers and well wishers. Among those who posted their best wishes are Genelia D’Souza, Shabana Azmi (who’s very close to both Konkona and her mother Aparna) and Karan Johar.
Konkona SenSharma was wearing a traditional saree. She teamed them up with her grandmother’s jewels. Ranvir Shorey was wearing a Punjabi sherwani. The marriage is not just the consummation of a fresh love story in the plastic world of Bollywood. It matches two of India’s greatest acting talents. While Ranvir is still to get his due despite starling performances in films like ‘Bheja Fry’ and ‘Mithya’, Konkona is already an A-lister in Bollywood with hits like ‘Wake Up Sid’ and ‘Page 3’ in her kitty.
