Bollywood Movies, Bollywood News – Pradeep Sarkar’s edgy love story, ‘Lafangey Parindey’ hits the screens today. Lafangey Parindey stars two of the most sought after actors of Bollywood today: Neil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika Padukone. Neil plays a street fighter, One Shot Nandu, who fights with a blindfold on. Deepika plays a blind girl called Pinky Palkar. Her character is ambitious and wants to rise about the bubble that people in her down-market locality are caught in. Lafangey Parindey is a movie that is riding high on adrenaline-pumping action sequences.
Neil was particularly thrilled to do the action scenes himself. He refused to use a body double and did the stunts on his own, with considerable support and guidance from the stunt coordinator, Shyam Kaushal. He admitted to have received numerous bruises while shooting the arena fights. He went on to say that many of the bandages that you will see in the film on his character are actually medical aid that Neil had to take! Now if you have to cut your skin to get into the skin of the character, that’s something really commendable, what say?
Deepika didn’t have smooth ride either. She got into the thick of things and performed her stunts without cringing. A particular shot needed her to jump from a bike and land on a mud heap. Pradeep Sarkar and Neil were wary about her doing it herself but she was determined to go ahead with it. And she did it flawlessly. Well done, Deepika!
This movie is important for Pradeep Sarkar as well. He delivered a box office dud (‘Laaga Chunri Mein Daag’) after the dazzling debut in ‘Parineeta’. For Yash Raj Films too, this one is important. They had some really bad movies (and business) lately and the only one that managed to break even was ‘Badmaash Company’. All fingers crossed with only a few hours to decide the fate of ‘Lafangey Parindey’.
