Bollywood Gossips: If this falls into place, it could be the casting coup of the year, if not for the decade! The new-age baton holders of the Kapoor clan can come together onscreen if Sajid Nadiadwala or Rohit Jugraj have their way. Apparently both of them are trying to get the Kapoor cousins, Ranbir and Kareena, on board.
Sajid wants them for his yet untitled film while Rohit’s film is aptly titled ‘Cousins’. Rohit was willing to share a byte with the media about the film: it’s about first cousins who team up for a cause. No wonder he wants Ranby and Bebo in the credits. Both deals are going to fall in place, if you go by the whispers in the grapevine.
Meanwhile, Ranbir’s chief competitor, Imran Khan has already bagged a Karan Johar project with Kareena Kapoor. Imran made no bones about the fact that he is smitten by the spunky Bebo. He could write “I Love Bebo” on every visible wall! Anyway, the positive canvassing got him the project and that’s what matters.
Kareena was slated to do Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Anjaana Anjaani’, which later fell into the shapely lap of Priyanka Chopra. Kareena flatly denied to be cast opposite Ranbir as a romantic interest: “Ranbir is so talented and I know that I can work magic with him onscreen. But he’s my brother. How can I star opposite him?”
We have our doubts if Kareena and Ranbir will come together for the Rohit Jugraj film. Rohit made the eminently forgettable ‘James’ and ‘Superstar’. But Rohit is confident of signing the two because he has written the script with specially Ranbir and Kareena in mind. As for Sajid, Kareena has already tasted success with him in ‘Kambakht Ishq’, where she set the screen on fire with Akshay Kumar. Watch this space for more updates on this story!
