Saif Ali Khan said that if “Agent Vinod” does well and the audiences like it, then of surely he will look forward to making it a series. It is the first time, where Saif is the producer and actor both in a complete action thriller movie. Though he is a part of the Race sequel, it cannot really be considered his franchise, as it has a number of stars in it, but finally he could have the start of a series that he can continue to work on in the future.
Recently, almost every big stars of Bollywood have been chasing those films, which can get them a long running brand new potential series and successful franchise.
First for Hrithik Roshan, who is the only star so far with a superhero series dedicated solely to him. After the great success of Koi Mil Gaya, the film went into superhero zone with Krissh, which also struck gold at the Box Office. And the third series Krissh 2 is already underway.
Shahrukh Khan is also trying hard to make a superhero series for himself. Being mixed responses of RA.One, he has been talking about making a sequel. Already SRK has a franchise though, in Don. As both Don and Don 2 have done well at the BO, Sharukh is gung-ho about making a third installment. SRK is pushing director-co-producer Farhan Akhtar really hard to start work on Don 3.
But Ajay Devgn has not really for superhero or action flicks. He has got himself to a comedy series with an ensemble cast. All three Golmaal series did a great business at the BO. Director Rohit Shetty has made these three Golmaal movies in just four years!
Even in case of Salman Khan, Dabangg sequel “Dabangg 2 “ is in the underway and soon Salman will be back as Chulbul Pandey, nastier and more corrupt this time. Though, Bodyguard has ended and there is no scope for developing it into a series.
So everyone got a franchise, And why not! After all, it becomes a star-exclusive product and a money spinning machine too. So why not Saif Ali Khan?
