This has got to be the truce of the decade! After being at loggerheads for years, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan decided to bury the hatchet in London. They were spotted having dinner together, along with Shah Rukh’s wife Gauri and director-best buddy Karan Johar. Karan was already pally with Aamir in the recent months. He was there to support Aamir’s film ‘3 Idiots’ and also spotted at various dos that were essentially Aamir Khan’s shows.
However, it didn’t seem that the biggest Khans of Bollywood could come together at a table. But here they were, digging Japanese chopsticks into sushi and sashimi at a London restaurant. As Gauri looked on in seeming delight, Shah Rukh and Aamir cracked jokes and fell upon each other in hysteric laughter.
Aamir Khan is in London to promote his latest home production, ‘Peepli Live’. Shah Rukh is also there on work. He’s wrapping up the shoot of his upcoming flick, ‘Ra.One’, where he costars with Kareena Kapoor. For Karan Johan this is more of a pleasure trip, though he’s working on his next script as he travels around with his buddy Shah Rukh. Aamir invited the trio to a special private screening of his movie. It was only Johar who showed up. Shah Rukh was busy shooting. But he did make it a point to be there at the dinner after wrap-up.
This is great news for Bollywood because the industry and the country would love to see them together in a movie. Some time back, the duo shared the stage to end the stalemate between producers and multiplex owners over revenue sharing. That was beginning of the thawing of relations. Prior to that, things came to a head when Aamir blogged that his dog was named ‘Shah Rukh’. Hopefully, the dinner can do what frantic producers wanting to sign them on couldn’t: bring them together.
