Music is largely responsible to build up the audience expectations from an upcoming film. A good soundtrack does a world of good to the opening that a movie gets in the first weekend. Filmmakers, over the decades, have concentrated to get that right. It’s no different for the biggie of the year, ‘Anjaana Anjaani’. This Ranbir Kapoor – Priyanka Chopra starrer has music by the electric duo, Vishal – Sekhar.
This team of music composer Vishal – Sekhar, Ranbir Kapoor and director Siddarth Anand had delivered the superhit romantic ballad ‘Khuda Jaane’ in their last film ‘Baachna Ae Haseeno’. Naturally, the expectations from them are sky-high. But the composers are not unduly worried about that. Vishal denied that he was thinking of ‘Khuda Jaane’ when he composed for ‘Anjaana Anjaani’. He feels that this new album deserves a new sound and that’s what they have tried to do.
The song ‘Hairat’ is already out on the TV screens. The song is by Lucky Ali, who comes to a big banner recording studio after a long hiatus. Vishal – Sekhar has got two versions of the title track – one a soft romantic number and the other is a disco, head-banging one. Because the movie stars two of the greatest star powers of Bollywood today, the music is expected to hit the high notes. No wonder then that Vishal – Sekhar is leaving no stone unturned.
The composers had tasted success very recently with ‘I Hate Luv Storys’. A hit here and they would be on the moon. Music composers are finding it tough to hold on to the top spot because of some quality work being done by talented composers like Pritam, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and the up and coming Amit Trivedi. The music of ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ looks great against the visuals of Ranbir and Priyanka. This is certainly the movie to watch out for in this quarter.
