Top draw model Monikangana Dutta is set to blaze the screen this year with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Guzaarish’. Very few newcomers can get the opportunity to be launched by someone like Bhansali. Look at what Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor have done to their careers despite a flop in ‘Sawaariya’. Bhansali had also launched Nandana Sen in ‘Black’. Monikangana, or Moni to her friends, couldn’t have dreamed of a better debut. You think that’s enough said about beginner’s luck? No!
Moni will not just be there in the intricately woven frames of ‘Guzaarish’, she’s also shaking a leg with none other than Hrithik Roshan! Her character is called Estella Harris. Though she cannot speak about her role yet, Moni sounds excited about the launch pad. No wonder she’s over the moon as the release date of the film comes closer. ‘Guzaarish’ is the big draw post Diwali. Moni has also bagged a two-film deal with Bhansali. Though the next film is yet in the dark, you can expect Bhansali to come up with something unique and extravagant.
However, there’s some cloud in the lining. Inside reports tell us that the supermodel Moni was not the ideal debutant. She apparently had oodles of star tantrums. She behaved high-handedly and gave everyone a tough time on the sets, including the very temperamental Bhansali. The master director got so miffed with her protégé that he shelved a song that he wanted to shoot with her and Hrithik! Most say that he was more than happy to wrap up the film and take it to the post-production stage. Moody actors have always been the bane of directors. The going gets tougher when they are debutants. Bhansali kept his cool till date because the film is up for release. But have you seen Moni in the rushes of ‘Guzaarish’? That’s Bhansali for you!
